Serves disabled veterans, their spouses, children & orphans. DAV employs a corps of National Service Officers (NSO’s) who represent veterans & their families with claims for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense & other government agencies. Veterans need not be DAV members to take advantage of this outstanding assistance, which is provided free of charge. Veterans requesting assistance in initiating claims, filing claims & status of claims, should first contact the DAV Offices located at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Hospital or the Frank Tejeda Clinic, National Service Officers (NSO’s). This chapter also has a DAV Community Thrift Store located at 1047 SE Military Dr, SA. DAV National Service Officer is well worth waiting for, accommodating, whatever it takes to see them when filing your case. The process takes many months while you wait after your appointment and they are busy working your case with VA until resolution. These are volunteers, so hats off to DAV. Treat this appointment as a lifesaver, because that’s what it is to be fairly treated by the VA. VA care saved my life.

Called everyday for two weeks at various times. Nobody answers the phone, ever. Horrible.

Just explained that i cannot make my appointment for today because of car problems and appt was scheduled for 1130 AM, so have to obtain a rental car. Practically begging if this appointment could coincide with my rental car agreement until 9 August 2017, and basically was given a rude no by a Jessica or Jennifer, and I explained to her that I have been waiting an entire month for this appointment already, and just rudeness all the way. Sometimes I wonder whether or not these agencies such as the DAV that has been put in place for veterans are for veterans because RUDENESS sure as heck takes away from their shine. Mine you we have to wait at least two days for folks at this office to contact you for obtaining an appt, and to be met with sure rudeness....goodness what is this world coming to?

Called six times, 3 in the morning and three in the afternoon (before 4:00 pm). Every time I called I received the voicemail notice saying they were on the phone with someone else. I followed their instructions and sent them an email and am still waiting for them to reply. Why can't they take our calls or reply to emails that same day? I have a question for them and it is very frustrating that they are not responding.
